Andy's Salmon & Mango is ethereal to the sushi experience. One of a kind, delicate Salmon (fresh from the ice a few steps away), with mango and topped with Andy's Mango Sauce. He divulged his recipe for his sauce but in his honor, I will not share.
By the way the 10 year old had a smile wider than the Cheshire cat when we caved to her request for seconds. Imagine your smile, as you take your first bite, if you like sushi and sashimi. We drove over 4 hours for the baptism by food, you can too.

Terminally ill South Carolina WWII Vet needs some HOLIDAY CHEER…
PPLEASE HELP!
I have learned that Mr. Calvin Harrison, a 91 year old WWII veteran is terminally ill and feeling a bit forgotten and very much "down" during this (and most probably his final) holiday season. Mr. Harrison is in hospice care in Florence, South Carolina.
Then it came to me…it would be great to call on Honor Flight caring volunteers to help fill his holiday with cheer by filling his room with "greeting cards" from coast to coast. Maybe with a brief note thanking Mr. Harrison for his service (WWII, U.S. Navy).
A trend to begin here? Sure! Why not! A ground crew effort for veterans who just cannot make it to their WWII Memorial! Please pass this note to all you can. Let's do this!

Apologies to my followers for the months of absence, school began and the weather is turning cold.
Everyone at home is still busy running around.
For some reason I have been given a lot of showers lately.
There is the white fluffy stuff outside... the short people call it SNOW.
This stuff is cold on my feet but seems fun to play in.
There is a big tree in the house now with blinking lights.
Mommy made some special treats for me, cookies and jerky.
I have to behave to have any of those special treats though.

Bruce D Basil
Bruce D Basil, 66, of Cass Twp., Hancock County, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born on August 3, 1947, to the late Lloyd and Grace (Germann) Basil in Van Wert, OH. He married Sharon Kiehl on June 27, 1970, and she survives.
Bruce is also survived by his daughters: Amy (Chris) Petersburg of Williamston, MI and Tracy Leliaert of Van Buren; twin brother, Brent (Patricia) Basil of Westchester, OH; and grandchildren: Alex and Kate Petersburg and Trace Leliaert.
Bruce loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at the cottage on Ball Lake in Hamilton, IN. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Findlay, OH where he was currently serving on the church council and as church treasurer. Bruce was the official score keeper and statistician for the Van Buren High School boys basketball teams for more than 25 years.
He was an electrical engineer in the automotive industry for over 40 years.
Bruce was actively involved in Masonic organizations. He served as and received: Past Master of Findlay Lodge #227 Free and Accepted Masons, Past High Priest of Van Wert Chapter #71 Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Van Wert Council #73 Royal and Select Masons, Past Commander of Ivanhoe Commandery #54 Knights Templar & Findlay Commandery #49 Knights Templar, Knight of the Grand York Cross of Honor (November 1981), Past Commander-in-Chief of Toledo Consistory Sublime Princes of the Royal Secret Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Honorary 33rd Degree Mason (Aug. 31, 1993 in Boston, MA), Member Royal Order of Scotland, Northwestern Council #138 Allied Masonic Degrees, Member Sovereign York Rite College #7, Member Tall Cedars of Lebanon-Ohio Northern Forest #188, Member Knight Masons of Ireland Shannon Council #28, Member Peace Tabernacle #10 Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest, Member St. Thomas Red Cross Conclave, Member Charlemagne Red Cross Conclave, Member Blackstone #195 York Rite College, Past Patron of Findlay Order of Eastern Star #23, Rainbow Grand Cross of Color & DeMolay Legion of Honor for working with the youth.

Bruce was also past Grand Commander of Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio, past Grand Recorder of Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio, Elected to Grand Commander Emeritus (Oct. 2013), and Aide to Most Eminent Grand Master of Grand Encampment Knights Templar of the U.S.A.
Family will receive visitors at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 & 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:45 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William Smith officiating. So WWII veterans cannot see THEIR memorials?
Locally we were told the park rangers will arrest anyone who cross the barriers.
How do they close a memorial that is opened 24 hours?
How dare they arrest a 90 year old World War II Veteran who survived the beaches of Normandy on D day?
