The Street

10 years later

Each year on 9/11 I check up on the Hallorans.
This year I found a letter from his wife Marie.

Another year again

It is another September 11th.
How many times have I heard this, "we are not affected by what happened in New York."
Time cannot take away the images and pain of that day.
The day the world's innocence was snatched by the roaring angry engines.
My children may not understand the terror until they are older. They do know that their cousin's uncle was one of the firefighters that never came home that day.

Vincent Gerald Halloran has beautiful children who will carry on his legacy.
Each year I think of his wife, raising all 6 children, with the only girl who is now 12 years old.
Someday I hope to hug her.
Someday we will be on the street in Tribeca with his namesake.

Every year the names of those lost on 9/11 are read aloud.
All the names are becoming familiar with each year.
Some of the surviving children are growing up on camera too.

I hope this tradition lives on and I hope this will always remind our country that Freedom is not Free.

Dragon Fish

Somehow the fish will not stay still for a picture.
