Must mention .... Andy's Sushi

This is a call out to those who enjoy sushi and sashimi.

Our annual pilgrimage to Pittsburgh includes more than grandma's and Buffo's. We head to Wholey's, right into the doors is a little stand no bigger than 5
feet by 10 feet.

Do not let the stature of the little man behind the counter fool you. His delicate fingers fly through the production before your eyes.

This trip (December 2013) marked a new milestone, a 10 year old requested for a second helping. (yes that was the sound of

his
 cash register going cha-chink, ca-chink).

Andy's Sushi is treat and an experience to savor for a long time. His menu consists of the usual culprits, california roll, spicy tuna

(cooked & uncooked)

His menu here:

To all wanna-be sushi aficionados, here is the call out to you and you and you.

Andy's Salmon & Mango is ethereal to the sushi experience. One of a kind, delicate Salmon (fresh from the ice a few steps away), with mango and topped with Andy's Mango Sauce. He divulged his recipe for his sauce but in his honor, I will not share.

By the way the 10 year old had a smile wider than the Cheshire cat when we caved to her request for seconds. Imagine your smile, as you take your first bite, if you like sushi and sashimi. We drove over 4 hours for the baptism by food, you can too.

Make sure you make a stop at Wholey's Fish Market on your next trip to Pittsburgh, the sushi experience that will make you come back for more.

Tell him the little girl sent you and you want mango sauce on everything.

*thank you Mr Nguyen, see you next year!
