Over the weekend, I caught the latest installment from BBC America, Robin Hood. I have probably every movie and series of the Legends of Sherwood Forests, from Errol Flynn, Stewart Granger, Sean Connery, Jason Connery, Michael Praed, Kevin Costner, Cary Elwes and introducing the latest, Jonas Armstrong. All the versions have relayed the myth well, "return the dues to the poor."
As the Presidential election draws closer, I think the political scene lacks a Robin Hood. Think about it, George W. Bush entered the Presidential Race as an underdog, unknown to most except the son of a previous President. Almost like Robin Hood, known only as the Earl of Huntington. Both have shown to the people their modesty and humble hearts. President Bush with his carhartts and dirty boots, or when he stood shoulder to shoulder with a construction worker at Gound Zero after September 11th. Robin of Loxley took from the rich and gave to the poor, putting his people before himself. Taking on a life in the wilderness instead of his servant-filled luxurious manor.
*tapping fingers - still waiting for the new Robin Hood.
*Hillary Clinton is not Marian, even though she is maidy.
